Description

Balled and Burlapped (B&B) Aspen Clumps refers to Aspen trees that are “Balled and Burlapped.” This means the trees are grown in the ground and then dug up with a large soil root ball wrapped in burlap to protect the roots during transport and planting.

In landscaping nurseries, B&B Aspen clumps typically consist of multiple Aspen trunks growing together from a shared root system, creating the natural look of a small Aspen grove. Because they are field-grown and harvested with an intact root ball, B&B Aspen clumps are often larger, more mature trees than container-grown options and are ideal for creating instant visual impact in landscapes. They are commonly used for natural screening, mountain-style landscapes, and creating the iconic clustered Aspen appearance found throughout Colorado.
